Interrogating Public Spaces

The project in public spaces can be divided broadly into two parts

    One are the already existing established sites for bird feeding at various locations in the city 

    Second are specific locations identified  so as to establish accepted  and abundant active future bird feeding sites.

By developing a bird concentration around an art object. These birds will interact with the comprising elements of this sculpture composed of water, seeds and other food opportunities. This art objects contains a word. the experiment involves deconstructing the word in a specific space & time in order to identify the meaning at that moment of a particular word.

As on left the worship-ing idol of Vishnu is a Brahaman-ical appr-oach whereas the image on the right shows the 'Tree Worship'  one of the many forms of 'Nature Worship' which was practice of aboriginal native tribes of JambuDweep (Hindu imagined world 'The Land of India') and such practices had been merged into the Vedic Religion and has been promoted and said to be a Hindu-Tatva (Hindu element) and politicised for strengthening 'The Hindutva Movement Of India' run by right winged Hindu spiritual guru-chelas (Tutors & students) and in fact is a mere addition in 'The  Forming Theory of Hinduism'.

                       I deducted finally to few sites depending upon different characteristics of each location.

These are the sites where word FORGIVE shall be grown and sustain with public support for a good deed of offering water and sharing of food with other non human living forms of many kinds. Most of the people offer to birds, ants and cows as a gesture for their religious duties attached strongly with many faiths of this country.

Location & Abstract

Local Shrine: Site to study Individual faith as a possibility for environmental health

River Bank: Interaction with migratory birds & analyzing the nutritional and mineral life of  water

Road Side: Raising the chances to notice nature in action as a tool for Random Public Participation

Local Park: Establishing a fresh site  enabling community interaction

Inside an auto rickshaw on my way back home from the days work & this heavy truck passed by quite rashly!!

The sites have been identified now the sculpture will be taken to these chosen sites. The sculptures has been made although the first of these sites could manage with an earth work. I don't know it just seem more appropriate. The experiment needs to cover different realizations by altering the core idea to certain degrees. 

The transport-ation is fixed and needed stuff like mud bowls and cereals, seeds have been bought. Its time now for the field job. Well, Carrier vehicles like this are not
allowed on roads during peak hours of traffic. But luckily The suitable timings for bird watching &  also for filming this early in mornings and before the sun set so lets hope it goes well!! or should I say

"let's just have some faith" !!
